The 4th leading cause of death, globally, is physical inactivity. Today, more than 31% of adults worldwide are physically inactive.
The facts:
- 80% of 13-15-year-olds do less than 60 minutes of exercise per week
- 6-10% of all deaths worldwide are due to inactivity
- 30% of all heart disease-related deaths are due to inactivity
- 20-30% increased risk of death compared to individuals who are active
- Exercise affects cognition in youth

The solution: Weekly training with an xAlt coach, in bouts of 15-minutes, is sufficient to decrease all cause mortality by 14%, with a 3-year life expectancy gain.
Evidence supports that:
- Risk of heart attacks decreases by 36% for those who expend 2000-3000 kcal/week in exercise (10,000 steps/day)
- 1-hour/week of walking or gardening is associated with major health benefits
- Risk of death decreases by 20% with 150-minutes of moderate or 75-minutes of vigorous exercise per week
With a new year ahead of us, signing up with xAlt to train with a coach is what we all need to keep our mental and physical health in shape! The science speaks for itself – set aside as little as 15-minutes a day to reap all the health benefits that will keep you living longer and happier!
